Here we have attempted to answer any questions you may have. However, please contact us if you need more information.

What is the cost of The Drawbridge Retreat?

The Drawbridge provides two and three night retreats at no charge to Pastors with their spouse. Lay leaders and church staff may be considered for a retreat with a recommendation from their pastor and a donation from the church.

Can we stay more than three nights?

The Drawbridge Ministry offers two and three nights of lodging and meals at no charge for Pastors. An extended stay of up to a total of seven nights may be requested.

Are we required to remain on the premises during our retreat?

You are welcome to spend your entire retreat at The Drawbridge, or, other than meal times, venture off and explore the area, the choice is yours. There are a number of points of interest in the area, many within a short 45-minute drive. Among many attractions, Omaha boasts a world famous zoo, the popular Old Market in downtown Omaha, museums, the Kerry Pedestrian bridge over the Missouri River, and just outside of our Louisville area is a Drive-thru Wildlife Park, the Stratcom Museum and State Parks.

Can we bring our children?

No. Although we love children, The Drawbridge is not equipped for childcare. Our goal is for your time with us to be most beneficial to spiritual and physical renewal without the distraction of caring for children.

Can friends visit us at The Drawbridge?

No. Accommodations at The Drawbridge are reserved solely for Pastors and spouses.

Is there a structured program?

No. The Drawbridge is all about creating a peaceful retreat setting. You are encouraged to simply relax and enjoy the forrest, the wildlife, the birds and Gods creation.

Is counseling provided?

The Drawbridge itself does not provide licensed counseling. We are however, here to listen, to encourage and to pray with you. The Drawbridge is associated with Care Givers Forum, a national network of pastoral caregivers. We can make a recommendation and assist with scheduling a local counselor to meet with you at The Drawbridge while you are here. Any costs for counseling are to be negotiated between you and the counselor.

What is the nearest town to The Drawbridge?

Louisville Nebraska is our closest town, (10 minutes away) there is a quaint little cafe and several small specialty shops. Springfield (15 minutes) has a small vineyard and winery, an old fashion soda fountain, and an arts studio and gallery. Omaha is just 30 minutes north of our location and Lincoln, NE just 60 minutes SW of our location.

Are meals provided?

Guests are on their own for breakfast. Continental breakfast items are provided in the kitchenette of the guest quarters. Lunch and dinner will be prepared by and shared with your hosts. Once your reservation is confirmed, you can select your lunch and dinner options from a menu we will send you .

Can we bring our own snacks?

We provide several snack options for you, however, please feel free to bring your favorites. The kitchenette in the guest quarters has a full size refrigerator and microwave for your use. Please do not bring nut products of any kind.

What kind of outdoor activities are there?

When weather permits, you might enjoy a challenging walk along the roadway within the community. It is hilly but provides a peaceful setting for a glimpse of the Ravens Nest Community where we are located. For those wanting something a bit more vigorous, you might try a hike through the woods on the ATV trails. Hiking boots are a must and a brief orientation is required before you head out through the forrest. If hiking is not your 'thing', jump on board our little UTV for a leisurely ride through the woods and winding road in our development.
